For our client, one of the leading life insurance companies and part of an international financial group headquartered in Europe, we are looking for a Chief Data Officer. This is a key position overseeing the data and artificial intelligence domain within the Polish organization (head office in Warsaw, a strong local technology team, and close collaboration with the group’s central functions).

Chief Data Officer

Warsaw, Poland (hybrid)

The main responsibility in this role will be to build and implement a cohesive data and AI strategy and translate it into tangible business outcomes—revenue growth, savings, and better decision-making across the entire organization.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Build the company’s data strategy and approach to data monetization

  • Support the business in delivering data and AI–related initiatives by working with business units to identify, prioritize, and implement data/AI projects

  • Data governance

  • Oversee data technologies and platforms, including responsibility for the direction of data architecture development

  • Drive education and foster a data-driven culture across the organization

Candidate Expectations

  • Experience in a role responsible for data / analytics / data & AI at the level of the entire organization or a large business unit
  • Experience in designing and implementing data strategies, running data monetization projects, and developing and leveraging data platforms (on-premise and/or cloud)

  • Experience leading transformational projects in the data domain

  • Proven leadership experience: managing managers and larger expert teams, ideally in environments undergoing change or reorganization

  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with an operational mindset—from defining the vision to execution and delivering measurable outcomes

  • Very good command of English (international environment, cooperation with the group headquarters, international projects)

What the Client Offers

  • A key, strategic role with real impact on shaping the company’s direction in data and AI

  • Significant autonomy within clearly defined group-wide guidelines: the ability to build the data and AI strategy, shape ways of working, select initiatives, and influence team development

  • An experienced and highly competent team of specialists and managers, ready to collaborate with the new leader and continue growing

  • Stable employment in a well-recognized, reputable financial services brand with a comprehensive corporate benefits package (including private medical care, group insurance, savings plan/PPK, benefits cafeteria, product discounts)

  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, an annual bonus tied to company performance and individual objectives, and additional benefits (e.g., company car or car allowance)

  • Hybrid work model — 1 day per week in the office
