Strategic Opportunity

As Sales Director for the DACH region, you will take full ownership of the regional sales strategy across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This is a high-impact leadership role suited for a commercially driven executive with a deep understanding of public transport and fleet operations.
You will be responsible for driving regional revenue growth, managing strategic tenders, and strengthening long-term partnerships with key customers, public authorities, and private operators. The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and hands-on leadership, with a strong network and a proven track record of success in the DACH market.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the regional sales strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Drive sales of buses and associated services (electric, hydrogen, hybrid, CNG, diesel).
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in both public and private transport sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public transport authorities, fleet operators, and key accounts.
  • Lead public tender processes, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with headquarters and internal stakeholders to align priorities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional sales team.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and foster a results-driven, customer-centric culture.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity across the DACH region.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic insights to senior leadership.
  • Partner with product management, marketing, aftersales, and finance teams to ensure commercial success and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to product localization and customization based on market needs.
Expectations
  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development within the commercial vehicle or bus industry.
  • Strong track record of success in the DACH region, including experience with public procurement and tendering processes.
  • Strategic mindset with strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of the public transport landscape in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • An MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
