Business Director – Eastern Europe

Your role
We are currently supporting one of our clients – a well-established international manufacturer operating in the mobility and public transport sector – in the recruitment of a Business Director for the Eastern Europe region (CEE). This newly created role combines commercial and aftersales leadership across a diverse set of markets and operational models. The appointed person will play a pivotal role in shaping regional strategy, strengthening operational performance, and driving long-term growth.
Responsibilities
Take full ownership of commercial and aftersales operations across multiple countries, including the Baltics, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Greece, the Balkans, Hungary, and others
Develop and execute a regional business development strategy with a 3–5-year horizon
Manage complex local structures – subsidiaries, commercial agents, and external service partners – ensuring performance and accountability
Engage directly in key customer relationships and public tender processes
Ensure the delivery of service quality and contractual obligations, with a strong focus on spare parts and post-sales operations
Act as a liaison between local teams and central headquarters in areas such as bidding, contract implementation, and warranty services
Propose and shape regional team structures, including hiring new roles if needed
Expectations
A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior commercial, regional, or aftersales roles within the bus, truck, or heavy equipment industries
Deep operational knowledge of aftersales service, customer satisfaction, and spare parts revenue generation
Experience with public procurement and navigating complex partner-based ecosystems across CEE markets
Fluent English is a must; knowledge of a regional language (e.g. Polish) is a strong asset
A strategic yet hands-on mindset with the ability to operate across borders and cultures
Readiness for frequent international travel and regular presence at the company’s HQ in Poland
